STOP SEARCHING! Book Amazon Green Tours NOW for the PERFECT Amazon Adventure! Seriously, if you're looking for the most incredible, authentic, and flawlessly organized Amazon boat tour from Manaus, just book with Amazon Green Tours. We just finished their 4-day/3-night boat tour (April 23-26, 2025) and it wasn't just a trip, it was the absolute highlight of our travels – exceeding every single expectation.
From the meticulous planning (we booked back in January) to the execution, everything was seamless. The 8 AM pickup from Hotel Saint Paul was punctual to the second. The initial journey included a fascinating look at the Meeting of Waters and then a stop at a floating village on the Rio Negro to see (and feed!) giant Arapaima fish – a great cultural immersion before the main event. The transfer itself showed their logistical prowess: a comfortable minibus took us partway (other guests went to their Jungle Lodge), followed by about a 2-hour scenic drive deeper towards the rainforest, ending at a small jetty where a private boat awaited us. They handled all our luggage – we didn't lift a finger.
Then, the houseboat! It was genuinely impressive: three levels, spotlessly clean, and beautifully maintained. Level 1 housed the kitchen, Level 2 had the comfortable dining and relaxation area, and Level 3 was the open-air viewing deck with seating and a BBQ – perfect for soaking in the surroundings. As we were the only couple on this trip (on a boat that fits up to 18!), we had this incredible space and the crew's full attention, which felt unbelievably special.
Being guided by Elso, the owner with ~20 years running Amazon Green Tours, was the core of the amazing experience. His knowledge isn't just recited facts; it's a deep, passionate understanding of the Amazon's ecosystem, history, flora, and fauna, shared engagingly. He personally led our excursions, adapting to the conditions (we even did a fantastic hike in the rain!). His partner runs their equally regarded Jungle Lodge, but having Elso guide the boat tour felt like getting the masterclass.
The days were full (5:30 AM starts for sunrise!) but perfectly balanced with activities like piranha fishing, navigating narrow tributaries in the smaller boat, jungle treks identifying medicinal plants, spotting monkeys, sloths, pink river dolphins, and caiman at night. We never felt rushed, breaks were well-timed, and the flow was natural, wrapping up around 8-9 PM. The crew were integral to this: Luciano, the small boat pilot, navigated expertly; Yara prepared consistently delicious and abundant meals (a highlight in itself!); and Felipe assisted diligently around the boat. Everyone worked together seamlessly.
Finally, seeing Elso's genuine commitment to giving back to his home community, visiting the area and learning about his support for local schools, added another layer of respect for the operation. It felt good knowing our money supported responsible tourism.
Choosing the boat tour was definitely worth the investment for the deeper access and unique perspective. Amazon Green Tours delivered an authentic, unforgettable, and impeccably run adventure. Don't hesitate!
